BS Analytics and Sustainability Studies Self Financed at TISS Mumbai Offline Course

With the advent of voluminous data sets on sustainability, there is significant scope for integrating Social Sciences and Science, Technology and Mathematical (STEM) disciplines to understand multiple dimensions of it. The proposed programme is an initiative in that direction. It envisages Analytics as a common thread that connects various fields to engage in an innovative learning process. In January 2018, the School launched a short-term learning programme for working professionals ‘Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Analytics (EPGDA)’. The first batch of EPGDA graduated in January 2019, and the second batch will be graduating by the end of 2021. Since its inception, the Labour Market Research Facility at the School has coordinated the programme. LMRF has launched its first batch of Postgraduate programme in Analytics (MA/MSc) in the academic year 2020. The program attracted students from all over the country, cutting across disciplines from engineering, management and social sciences. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the first batch completed the course requirement for two semesters, including two internship opportunities, where students have worked in analytics teams. By August 2021, the second batch joined the program, and there is a significant increase in the size and diversity of the batch.

The BS program in Analytics and Sustainability Studies will be distinct from the learning programmes in analytics offered by other institutions since this program brings together the aspects of sustainability concerns and analytics to the same platform and addresses the same. The proposed program is structured as per the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 with multiple exit options and trans disciplinary.
