The Akal College of Nursing, Sirmour, which came into existence in 2008, is indeed the finest Nursing college in Baru Sahib, Himachal Pradesh. As a women only college, it is calendered to offer various nursing programmes starting from the basic undergraduate level to the master level. Akal College of Nursing has the necessary programmes for students to pursue different fields they wish to be in their nursing careers. In the undergraduate level the college offers only the B.Sc Nursing and in the postgraduate level, the college offers five courses out of which four are M.Sc Medical Surgical Nursing, M.Sc Child Health Nursing, M.Sc Obstetrics Gynecological Nursing and M.Sc Psychiatric Nursing, and M.Sc Community Health Nursing. All these courses are full-time programme, curriculum of which aimed to equip students with in-deep knowledge and hands on experience in the specialisations. The B.Sc Nursing programme has an intake capacity of only 60 students to ensure that every student gets individual attention when they are learning M.Sc programmes, most of them take only 5-10 students to make sure that the students get a quality education.
