Al-Ameen Institute of Management Studies Bangalore was founded in 1991–92 under the guidance of Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, the Founder and Chairman of Al-Ameen Educational Society, Bangalore. Al Ameen Institute of Management Studies Bangalore is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and is ISO 9001:2015 certified. The institute is recognised under Sections 2(f) and 12B of the UGC Act 1956, accredited with B++ by NAAC, and has been granted Minority Status by the Government of Karnataka.
