This paper presents Al-Rahman College of Education, Nalgonda, a prime college in the state of Telangana, India, that began operating in 2014. This co-educational institution is well established on a 1-acre campus to prepare the future of the aspiring educators. It is affiliated to other colleges and operates under the regulation of similar institutions of learning that have a rich reputation for offering quality programmes that meet the market demands of a dynamic economy. The college is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Nalgonda. The college is privileged to have got the approval from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), and the college is equally serious about maintaining high standards related to teacher education.
Al-Rahman College of Education has state-of-the-art facilities that are intended to complement the learning of the college students. A well-stocked library is provided with computerised books brought from qualified librarians to oversee them. The campus is equipped with new laboratories where students have practices to enhance their skills. This one holds different events and seminars, keeping the academic spirit of the space alive. The college has a health centre to cater to all the health needs of the students, as it has a first aid department. From my perspective, sports facilities reinforce positive student attributes such as health/fitness as well as unity among them. It also follows the modern technological trends in the provision of education and boasts of good IT support for (d) digital learning. Other Utility infrastructures include a convenience store, parking amenities, and a cafeteria, make campus comfortable.
Al-Rahman College of Education at the moment has only one main programme, which is the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). This two-year full-time course aims at producing competent and dedicated teachers. The approved intake of the college is 100 and the college retains a manageable number of trainees for teacher training.
Admission in Al-Rahman College of Education is strictly merit-based as per the rules and regulations of the state government/UT and affiliated university. Admissions are Open Merit and Merit list of the qualifying examinations and or Entrance Tests are prepared for the admission of prospective students. The college also may use other methods of selection in order to admit candidates with great potential to succeed in the chosen sphere of study, which is the sphere of education in our case.
