The Alpha Arts and Science College in Porur, Chennai was founded in the academic year 1996-1997 and currently the college is a reckoned one across the region. This is an affiliated college under the Choudwar–Cuttack University with National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) status, it has many undergraduate and post graduate courses. Located in a 3.2-acre land, the AASC is one of the largest campuses with 2276 students, and 111 faculty members. There are overall 16 courses offered by the college in 6 degrees/programmes are offered in areas of Computer Science, Biotechnology and Business Administration. When it comes to gender distribution, AASC sits with 70% male students and 30% female students for the undergraduate programs while 56% male students and 44% female students in postgraduate classes.
