AMEs Dental College and Hospital, Raichur, was established in 1991 and is one of the oldest dental education institutions located in Karnataka, India. This is affiliated with RGUHS, approved by the Dental Council of India (DCI), and has been doing the needful in laying the foundation of dental care for more than three decades. Located near the Government Polytechnic in Raichur, the college has been envisioned to offer various dental courses to intending dental specialists. AMES has a faculty strength of sixty-five highly committed, dedicated human resources for realising the vision in the dental college faculty. 

This college has many facilities which can improve the quality of the learning process as well as improve the general health of the students. The campus has hostel facilities for the male and female students so that outstation students can be comfortably accommodated. Health centre to meet any first aid requirements with a properly equipped first aid station. There is a formal college library with a vast stock and dissemination of dental literature and other related information to the students. For those who have an interest in sports and games, the college provides different sports amenities in order to ensure that the students get the right work-life balance.

AMEs Dental College and Hospital has put in place a wide programme offer in dentistry to meet the various career options within the profession. It offers seven full-time courses; they are undergraduate, postgraduate, etc. There is a BDS programme at the undergraduate level with an intake of 40 students in the college. For postgraduate specialisations the college offers Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Periodontology, Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, Oral Medicine and Radiology, and Paediatric and preventive Dentistry.

Admission into AMEs Dental College and Hospital is formulated in a way that ensures students with great potentiality in their dental courses are offered a chance to join the college. For the undergraduate BDS programme, the admissions are therefore done through the students’ performance in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Universal Group (NEET-UG). Likewise, the admission process to the postgraduate MDS programmes, the college grants admission through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Masters in Dental Surgery (NEET-MDS). This is a standardised test whose chief purpose is to ascertain the candidate’s level of knowledge and ability needed for postgraduate dental education.
