Ananda Marga Polytechnic Kolar former name KREC established in 1986 an affiliated college under VTU located at Veerappanagar, Kudiyanur Post, Malur Taluk Kolar District Karnataka. This institution provides diploma courses in the different fields of engineering. Located in a 10 acre compound, the polytechnic offers sound technical education to students who intend to be engineers. Ananda Marga Polytechnic with a total student intake of 405 for six diploma courses, intends to produce competent professional in the field of engineering and technology.

Different facilities in the Ananda Marga Polytechnic help to enhance the student’s academic performance and personal growth. The multiple professional and new generation books and journals are supplemented with digital library facilities which are the backbone of a knowledge acquiring source. For members interested in physical activities in relation to fitness and recreation, the college has provided for sports amenities. Every department includes updated laboratory facilities for it students and enables them get practical experience and mastering the related skills. At present, Ananda Marga Polytechnic is providing total of six full time diploma in engineering courses including diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Information Technology etc. These programmes are meant to equip the students with technical content knowledge and procedural competency. The institute in total has been granted approval to intake 405 students in various courses offered for different engineering dreams of students. When it comes to the number of graduates the figures are not available but the institute aims to produce skilled technicians engineers for the industrial need.
