Arasu Engineering College was start in the year 2001 and is situated in Kumbakonam, Tamilnadu. This affiliated college approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). This college provides various engineering programmes. Located on a 50-acre acre piece of land, AEC has a total of 1,173 students of which 97% are the undergraduate and 3% post graduate. The college also has a student to faculty ratio of 109 and is staffed with 109 committed faculty. AEC has 11 courses across the engineering field such as computer science, electronics & telecommunication, mechanical engineering, and biomedical engineering.

Arasu Engineering College then offers learning amenities and services that would help the college students gain their experiences. The library having been the nerve centre of learning resources has a collection of over 25,100 text and reference books, national and international journals. The centre uses some of the current technologies such as the Barcode Technology and the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). AEC also provides quality accommodations for hostel for both boys and girls hence it provides comfortable facilities particularly for out-station students. The campus has adequate sports court, gym and even a health facility with a first aid section. To serve the students’ and staff’s nutritional requirements, the college runs a cafeteria that provides clean and cheap meals. At AEC, the information technology is well developed to meet the technological demands needed for the education sector.

Arasu Engineering College has accordant engineering course offered for instance 9 under graduate and 4 post graduate courses. As a rule, all programmes are full-time, regular courses, which were developed to give detailed information and practical experience in different branches of engineering. The college has an overall approved intake of 979 students for all its courses. Some of the most popular undergraduate specialisations are in Computer Science and Engineering; Electronics & Communication engineering; Electrical & Electronics engineerings; and the new ones include Artificial Intelligence & data science. At postgraduate level AEC offers ME programmes Computer science and Engineering, VLSI design power Electronics and Drives and Thermal Engineering.

Admission policy of Arasu Engineering College is always fair and transparent and the college admits students through an admission test. No finer particulars regarding the admission process have been given but it is relatively normal for the engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu to accept the scores of state or national level entrance tests. Since the college offers a number of courses, there are regular intakes for each of the courses offered in the college with differences in the intakes capacities of each course offered by the college. For instance, BE Computer Science and Engineering has 96 intake capacity and other well sought courses such as BE Electronics and Communication Engineering, BE Mechanical Engineering and BE Biomedical Engineering shall have 60 intake capacity. The college also offers scholarships to enable deserving students to be offered a chance to pursue their dreams. Out of the total reimbursements made in this institution during the academic year 2023, 115 under part and 8 postgraduate students were beneficiaries proving the aim of the institution to expand access to quality education. Unfortunately, information about specific exams accepted or students who graduated from AEC with recognization is not available, yet AEC never a relented on proviced quality education and training of students most especially the postgraduate students.
