Ashoka Institute of Hotel Management, Giridih (AIHM) is an famous educational institute at Makatpur, Giridih of Jharkhand. As an affiliated college, the institution has diplomas in specialised courses in hospitality management. The AICTE has recognised the institute as a center for technical education hence, standards of quality education in technical learning are observed. The institution is a co-educational institution and admitted students of all classes come from a mixed background. 

AIHM has various facilities aimed at improving the learning of students in the school. The institute possesses a rich library, and in order to enhance students’ knowledge, they have an access to numerous books, journals, magazines, newspapers, other periodicals and internet sources within the sphere of hospitality and related fields. In response to the knowledge demands of the new generation, AIHM has developed good IT systems and makes efficacious use of information technology within the curriculum to prepare students for the global hospitality industry. The institute also has many departmental laboratories through which students are able to practice several administered aspects of manage in hotel. A total of 3 full time courses are offered at the Ashoka Institute of Hotel Management; to meet the hospitality education needs of the learners at different levels. There are three programme that are offered which are Diploma in Hotel Management (DHM), Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) and Master of Hotel Management (MHM). The DHM programme offered at the institute takes 3 years of study and for which the institute has the capacity to admit 180 students as shown by the approved student intake. The BHM course is spread over four years during which the basic principles and practices of hotel management are studied.
