Auroville Institute of Applied Technology, started in 2002 is an affiliated college situated at Villupuram, Tamil Nadu. AIAT Villupuram or the AIAT institute is one of the esteemed organisation which has made its position in providing education in applied technology. Located at Irumbai Main Road, opposite the TN-E.B. office, AIAT offers three, specifically designed B.Voc courses, which are integrated to explore sectors of advanced technology and sustainable environment. 

In terms of resources, Auroville Institute of Applied Technology has all the State of art Terms for creating a successful learning atmosphere for its students. The institute comprises a rich library where students have an access to the greatest amount of literature. Labs at AIAT are a special matter of pride as they exceed basic necessities and provide versatile practical learning. For instance, the Fitter trade training has extra attachments in Turning, Milling and Sheet Metal work; while the Electronic Mechanics course entailed solar system maintenance. The different facilities in the campus include the Workshop/ Machine Shop/ CAD/CAM Laboratory/ Computer Laboratory/ Electrical Laboratory and Green Energy Laboratory. In recognition of technological demands of the students, AIAT has set up three computer laboratories with sixty computers and three servers to provide adequate computer facilities a need that we fulfill .

The institute have introduce three full time B.Voc courses which are designed to cater demand of new world market. They include B.Voc in Green Energy and Electric Systems, B.Voc in Production Technology, and B.Voc in Software Development and Machine learning. All of the programs are planned to be achieved within three years and also, include both, theoretical and practical modules. 

The admission at AIAT Villupuram considers selection through academic merit or individually set criteria by the College itself.
