About AWH Special College, Calicut
AWH Special College affiliated to Calicut University was started in the year 1996 is situated at Kozhikode, Kerala. This institution is located on a 3 acre piece of land and it has diverse programmes in many fields. The college is at present functional with 754 enrolled students & 65 facilities/teachers. AWH Special College offers 15 courses under six programmes of study offered with specialisation in Physiotherapy, Audiology Speech Language Pathology, Computer Science, Geology, genetics and Electronics.
AWH Special College has various facilities most of which are intended to complement the learning process of the students. A large computerised library stocked with well over four thousand two hundred books, foreign authors are also represented, students get all the necessary materials they need for their studies. The college is well equipped with state of the art laboratory amenities, especially for students of physiotherapy; the equipment includes Laser, SWD, Ultrasound, Treadmill, IFT, TENS and others. The campus also has two computerised labs with forty-five systems with Lan/Wine Windows plus internet facilities. The college also ensures the students’ health and keeps a health centre, besides operating two distinct outpatient physiotherapy clinics. Other associated facilities include a girls’ hostel, play fields, hall for celebrations, staff and students canteen etc.
Currently, AWH Special College has a total of fifteen courses, which include undergraduate courses and post graduate courses. The undergraduate programmes include full time courses of BPT, BASLP, Computer Science, Geology, Genetics, Electronics etc. At the postgraduate level the college offered Master of Physiotherapy in various specialisation, Masters in Social Work and Master in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology.
