    Azad College of Education Satara was established in 1955 and is located in the path of Satara is one of the premier institutes serving nation by building the future of education. This college for boys and girls is situated at Satara, Maharashtra and has been training budding teacher educators for more than 6 decades. It is an affiliated institution and has got recognition from the National Council for Teacher Education NCTE it shows that the college is very much devoted to teacher education. Azad College of Education is spread over a small campus measuring 0 acres and provides four different courses at three different levels of degree with a total strength of students up to 138. The college boasts of a faculty of 13 dedicated and experienced teachers who manage to give individual student attention due to the favourable student-teacher ratio. 

    Azad College of Education prides itself on numerous facilities that exist to complement the learning and teaching process of the students. The library situated in a building of 140 square meters is filled with more than 24000 books, 35 periodical and educational journals. Among the facilities in the building which are of great benefit are the student’s study room and internet connection making the building a favourite for research. The college aims to embrace technology through its computer cell which has 12 computers that are internet-enabled and an LCD projector. In order to ensure the overall personality development of students of Azad College appear with sports facilities, gym an auditorium etc. The college also pays considerable attention to the welfare of the students with separate hostels for boys and girls, consisting of thirty and sixty students respectively with all the modern basic requirements. The college is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Other facilities include a canteen, a health centre with a first aid station and guest accommodation for faculty members and their families. There are four full time programmes being offered in Azad College of Education to fulfill different of teacher education.
