Baba Farid College of Education, Bathinda was established in 2005 with a vision of lightening the future of education. This affiliated college is established in Punjab, India to provide education to all to up to the level of B.Ed. It is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education, India and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, India. Situated on a 50 acres of land the college has four distinctive teaching degree programs in education and total enrolment stands at 348. Of the 32 members in the faculty for the institute, all are qualified teachers with a wealth of experience in the classroom and the faculty-to-student ratio is kept low, guaranteeing students receive individual focus and quality education.

Academic facilities available in the college include a comprehensive host of well equipped state of the art equipment. A fully equipped library has a collection of books and other learning resources exceeds 8000 with inter and national journals and magazines, newspapers in many languages. This impressive library is computerised with ‘e-Granthalaya’ software that provides Resource through ‘Web OPAC’. A digital library equipped with Internet enabled nodes for students for accessing e-resources is provided to the students. The campus comprises of air condition hostels for the youngsters that are provided for boys only and girls only for a comfortable living experience with round the clock internet access and warden managed hostels for discipline. For the students who are health conscious the college provides gym and sports equipment for the students. The schools IT facilities include a computer lab with Internet connection both for the staff and users. 

Baba Farid College of Education at present provides a total of four full time courses all of which are education and teaching courses. These include Bachelors in Education, Masters in Education, Bachelor of Education and Arts, Bachelor of Education and Science. 

The admission of students in Baba Farid College of Education is made according to the guidelines provided by NCTE, Punjab Government and Punjabi University, Patiala. The admission process of B.El.Ed and B.A.B.ED is approved of these guidelines in accordance with the two years’ program bifurcated in four semesters.
