Bangarh Scholar Teachers Training Institute, Balurghat was established in the year 2015. This is a co-educational institute with a compact campus of 1 acre and imparts education only in training future teachers. This affiliated college got its affiliation from the National Council of Teacher Education by which this institute would work towards training teachers according to the national standards. The institute currently has two specialized courses with a student enrollment of 196, and the faculty strength is 34 teachers of experience.

The institutes have several facilities that help in making the learning process of the students more enriching. There is a well-stocked library comprising 4,260 books and a reading room for 100 students, thus providing an ambiance congenial for research and study. Bangarh Scholar Teachers Training Institute offers two professional full-time courses in the area of teacher education: B.Ed and D.El.Ed. The course structure in both the programmes comprises comprehensive knowledge with practical experience for two years, which helps the aspiring teachers face the challenges confidently.

Admission to Bangarh Scholar Teachers Training Institute shall be based on merit in marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or Entrance Examinations, as the case may be, in terms of policies set by State Government, UT Administration, or the affiliating University. For B.Ed., admissions are made on the basis of candidate's merit in the qualifying examination or on the basis of selection as per State and University guidelines. The admission to the D.El.Ed. programme is also made on the basis of merit of the qualifying examination or entrance examination as per the policies prescribed by the state government and UT administration.
