Bihar National College, Patna, popularly known as BN College, happens to be among the oldest and finest educational institutions in this country, with its date of establishment flashing back to 1889. This co-educational institute, located near Gandhi Maidan on Ashok Rajpath, Patna, Bihar, has a long history of over 130 years. The institution being a constituent college is accredited by NAAC. With a campus spread over 8 acres, it houses 1,695 enrolments. The faculty consists of 48 members.

It aims to provide a perfect and ideal teaching-learning environment with all modern facilities for the all-round development of students. The campus has separate in-campus boys' and girls' hostel facilities for a comfortable stay of out-station students. On-campus, there is a main hostel building comprising four large blocks sharing common facilities, and additional hostel facilities are available at the Saidpur Campus. In all, there are 24 courses across the streams of arts, science, and commerce. It offers full-time courses in some of the popular disciplines like B.Sc. The courses available at this level are BSc (Honours) in Physics, Zoology, Botany, Geology, Mathematics, and Chemistry; BA (Honours) courses include Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Urdu, Geography, History, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Philosophy, and Statistics. The professional courses, on the other hand, include BBA and BCA. The institute has recently announced its MA in English for postgraduate aspirants.
