About BMSSA Bangalore
BMS School of Architecture (BMSSA) was set up in 2010 and is one of the premier architectural college in Bengaluru, Karnataka. BMSSA is located in a built-up area of 3 acres and the institute boasts of a NIRF 2024 ranking of 38 among all architecture colleges. It is NAAC accredited institute and recognised by Council of Architecture New Delhi and offers courses of B.Arch, M.Arch Urban Design and Ph.D in Architecture. BMSSA currently has 547 students and 33 faculty members, out of which 68% students are in-state students, 30% are out of state, and 3% of students are international students.
To support the needs of its students, BMS School of Architecture offers a variety of facilities to help improve student learning and achievement. On this campus, the students are provided with comfortable hostel accommodation separators for both boys and girls. There is modern first aid facility equipped health centre to cater to the medical needs of the students. The institute has also has a modern Amenities and comfort: include Gym, Library and host of facilities for Sports and games. A computerised library, Internet service and well equipped IT forayed academies, Wi-Fi facility and a cafeteria serves little snack for students. An auditorium is provided for events and seminars and individual laboratories are conducted for practical purposes. Other facilities include guest rooms, parking facilities, transport facilities and banks/ATMs for clients’ accommodation, convenience and comfort.
The institute offers three main courses: a 5 year B.Arch programme with 120 seats, a 2 year M.Arch Urban Design programme for 20 seats and a 6 year PhD in Architecture. These programmes are intended to meet needs for a variety of levels of architectural education ranging from under graduate levels through to doctoral levels. The B.Arch programme, being the flagship course.
The B.Arch programme, merit based from NATA or JEE Paper 2 scores are accepted along with KCET or COMEDK UGET scores. The M.Arch Urban Design program makes use of the GATE score and then the Karnataka PGCET rank. The management seats have been offered based on portfolio assessment as well as interviews conducted to the successful candidates. Ph.D. admissions comprise a synopsis selection, VRAT Test and an interview conducted for the purpose by VTU in cases of specific affiliated research centers. BMSSA recognises scores from several national and state level entrance test such as JEE Main, NATA, COMEDK UGET, GATE and Karnataka PGCET.
