Bokaro Mahila College, Bokaro, originally founded in 1976, is one of the leading women’s colleges situated in Bokaro Steel City, Bokaro, Jharkhand. This affiliated college, NAAC approved, not only provides undergraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, and Science streams but also in Computers, Business and Management. Seated in a 10-acre land, the college has total enrolment of 2603 students and has a faculty of 44 members only. This college offers 22 different courses and 6 degrees and offers specialisations in Hindi, Bengali, English, Philosophy, Economics, and Sciences.

Bokaro Mahila College has a commitment of creating a favourable environment that allows its learners to thrive in. It provides various amenities for academic and personal development practices. The library that is in existence as a central information centre also has books and other information resources. For those interested in sports, the college has exclusive sport grounds to allow them to develop good health and spirit in the team. On aspect of production, the institution also improved its IT system making students fit in the modern technology market. Modern facilities, including well-equipped laboratories for science practical with electron microscopes. In addition, the college has a health centre with a first aid section that can handle the Health emergencies of the students.

The undergraduate programmes of Bokaro Mahila College is vast; it offers only full-time curriculums. As of now, the college offers 22 courses under 6 degree programmes of BA/B.Com/B.Sc with different intensity in each stream. Among them some are BA (Hons) in Hindi, Bengali, English, Philosophy, Economics, History and Political Science etc. and B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany etc. The B.Com programme provides option in Accountancy.

The candidate is admitted to these courses based on his/her performance at the 10+2 examination, and there are certain subject requirements depending upon the specialization selected by the candidate.

B.Sc.: The college also offers B.Sc. honor programs in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany. These courses can be applied by students who have cleared 10+2 with the Science streams. Admission is made on merit list based on the marks secured by the candidate in the entrance test.

B.Com.: Bokaro Mahila College provides B.Com. with specialisation in Accountancy. Admission to this course is conducted on the basis of performance of the candidate in the 10+2 examination giving priority to Commerce or allied subjects students in the higher secondary course.
