Affiliated College in Tamil Nadu, India, CARE School of Architecture was set up in 2010 in Tiruchirappalli. This is a co-educational institution fully accredited by the Council of Architecture which had designed a comprehensive a five-year full time programme leading to the award of Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch). Located in a 13.42-acres area, this college enrolled 205 students in total and has 37 faculty members. The institute boasts a diverse student body with a 53:47 male to female ratio. While selecting students, CARE School of Architecture offers admission bases on the scores students have obtained from national-level entrance examination such as NATA, and JEE Main. It can also be seen that the college is quite serious about the education of architects from the fact that their buildings are aerated and most of the learning is hands on type.
Present training amenities include bandwidth, shops, computing services, medical services, a post office, a cafeteria, accommodation and transport, among other services which facilitate a positive learning environment for the students. The campus has marked hostels for boys and girls consists of neat, clean, well furnished, spacious rooms along with sports/recreational facilities. A well equipped library junctioned with modern books, journals, and periodicals is considered modern while catering to the current advancement in the field of architecture. Most impressive is the college’s IT facilities; a digital laboratory complete with over 40 functional computers and licensed software solutions including Autodesk Revit, 3Ds Max, AutoCAD among with adobe applications. An additional separate digital studio equipped with plotting and high-quality print mechanisms is provided for further investigations in the digital domain. It also has known sports grounds, gym, cafeteria and an auditorium for the round college operations. This is an Affiliated College of Anna University, Chennai.
CARE School of Architecture only has one full-time course in its portfolio today – the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) programme. This programme is the 5 year undergraduate degree level and the university approved annual student capacity is eighty students. This programme of study is meant to best prepare a student for the profession as it comprises of both the theoretical aspect in architecture as well as the practical skills needed in the profession. Such selectiveness has the advantage of concentrating the college’s resources and efforts on the teaching of architecture.
Students are offered admission at CARE School of Architecture in accordance with their NATA scores. With regard to B.Arch, the institute also provides admission based on the scores obtained in the Joint Entrance Examination Main. This commitment is designed to assist institutions offering quality Architectural education to offer deserving students some form of financial aid.
