In this research study the institution selected for the study is Cauvery College of Engineering and Technology, Tiruchirappalli Annapoorna Block, College Road, Tiruchirappalli – 620002, which is situated in Tamil Nadu, India and was established in the year 2008. This is a co-educational institute that provides various engineering courses, its main goal is to offer quality technical education for those intending to be engineers. Perur, Kulumani Road based establishment has a unique location where the academic excellence is enhanced by conducive facilities for learning. Being an affiliated college, it sustains high standards of education and is equally producing students to fit future challenges of engineering profession. The institution currently has four undergraduate engineering programs and its course offerings and focus are diverse as a result of the qualifications that are needed in various fields.

The college seeks to produce a well rounded student hence the impressive offer of all round facilities. Many student facilities are available to the learners among them being resourceful laboratories for practical learning of different engineering streams. Library and information services of the college provide diverse range of books, journals and digital databases for learning. As for asylum needs of the learners, the institution offers shanty for both male and female students to enhance on comfort in their stay. The campus also has an auditorium for event and seminar use to keep the academic environment active. Students and members of staff are provided with a cafeteria for a meal for the day, plus there are amenities for sports and games to encourage on health and unity. Student health is well considered in the college through a medical center that offers first aid services. Further, it has very strong IT facilities enabling contemporary teaching learning methods and being updated on the emergent technologies.

There are altogether four full-time Bachelor of Engineering (BE) programmes offered at Cauvery College of Engineering and Technology but they have a special emphasis on these. These are BE in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. All programs are five academic years in total, giving deep and broader understanding and experience in relevant subject areas.
