About Central Institute of Hand Tools, Jalandhar
The government of India (GOI) set up the Central Institute of Hand Tools (CIHT) Jalandhar as a National Institute in Jalandhar (Punjab), an autonomous organisation with the assistance of the UNDP and Govt of Punjab in the year 1983, to provide trained manpower and technology support services to the engineering industry.
CIHT Jalandhar has been approved by AICTE & Affiliated College of the Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Chandigarh. The institute offers engineering education in various skill development courses which are in high demand in fields like Product Design & Development, CNC Programming & Machining, CAD/ CAM, PLC, Electrician and Quality Control along with Mechatronics/ Automation, Welding, etc. and provides services to engineering industries in various areas such as tool room, testing, heat treatment, and quality control.
CIHT Jalandhar is running five full-time duration Diploma courses and Various NSQF Complaint/ NSQF Exempted Courses.
