    The Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology, Dehradun, is one of the premier institutions in the field of Plastics Engineering and Technology. This is a relatively new institute, started in 2018, located at Doiwala, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. CIPET Dehradun has its affiliation by the AICTE, New Delhi, thereby maintaining national level standards. Where the enrolment of student is 1,058 and, the faculty strength is 7 members committed to quality education in the field of plastics engineering. 

    CIPET Dehradun has modern facilities to back its academic mandate. It has numerous departments in the institute having well-equipped laboratories, thereby providing hands-on experience to the students in their technique-based education. These labs are provided so that the students should get practical experience by applying theoretical input during their course of study in plastics engineering. There is also a fully comprehensive library in CIPET Dehradun, designed to enhance critical thinking and learning outcomes. It is an important institution that supports the research and academic activities of the CIPET community and which keeps the CIPET community apprised of the latest developments in the field of plastics engineering and technology.

    Academically, CIPET Dehradun has a high leaning toward specialised diploma programs in plastics engineering. The present full-time diploma programs at the institute are Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology and Diploma in Plastics Technology. So the number of seats in these two programs sums up to 240. All three are three-year diploma programs. These programs are mainly designed for the acquisition of comprehensive knowledge and skills in their respective disciplines by the students. The curriculum would have oriented theoretical learning toward practical training to meet the requirements of the plastics industry.

    The admission procedure of CIPET Dehradun aims to invite able and motivated students for its unique courses. The Institute admits students to the Diploma in Plastics Technology based on the CIPET JEE conducted for the purpose. This entrance exam is conducted to standardise the procedure for admission, which will evaluate candidates on their aptitude and readiness for the program.
