The Centre for Juridical Studies as a constituent college of Dibrugarh University was set up in the year 2006 in Dibrugarh in Assam. This is a renowned law school that opens an integrated five year BA LLB (Hons) programme for students. Recognised by the Bar Council of India, this centre is unique for legal education in Northeast India. This has a faculty status of 10 members who are dedicated to ensure that the institute does provide quality education. The centre enrols only 60 students in a year enabling it to offer close attention to its students and a more rigorous practical training. 

Located on the campus of Dibrugarh University, the Centre for Juridical Studies gets the advantage of receiving the atmosphere of the university. The students are provided with access to the university’s facilities, libraries, IT services, etc that would be required for the total experience as a lawyer. 

The Centre for Juridical Studies provides only one focused course within the bachelor’s degree, the BA LLB Hons. This full-time programme takes five years and seeks to produce graduates with a professional background in Arts as well as in law. Each year the programme takes 60 students to guarantee a competitive and selective environment for learning. 

The criteria for the admission of students at the Centre for Juridical Studies are strictly competitive and thus, the institute only admits only the best of the best legal prospects. The applicants are required to write an admission test and then sit for a viva examination. This multi-stage approach to the selection minimises the number of students who could be admitted to the programme in order to capture only the most motivated and qualified candidates.
