The Chevalier T Thomas Elizabeth College for Women (CTTEWC) was started in 1985, which is a women’s college situated in Perambur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This is a NAAC accredited institution an affiliated college offering various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. CTTEWC is spread over 3.21 acres of land and having a permissible enrolment of 2,269 and it also has a teaching staff of 114 members. At the college presently we have 16 courses falling under 9 degree programmes out of them we excel in fields like English, Commerce computer science and social work.
The academy has promised to avail the best facilities to support the learning of the students of CTTEWC. Fully automated college library with AUTOLIB Management Software, D-Space Repository; 14 LAN computers. It has more than 27, 000 books, 708 back volumes and Journals and magazine subscriptions. Campus facilities include 13 smart class rooms, fully equipped laboratories and a language laboratory with 31 computers for development of the students’ language and communication skills. For physical fitness the college boasts of a multi-gym which has free weights and the facility for aerobics. The 500 seater central A.C Auditorium provides a platform for academics and co curricular activities. Also offered at CTTEWC are Internet services through Wi-Fi, health facilities equipped with first aid services and an eating place where meals are sold at give away prices to students.
The college provides practically all programmes to students, intending and capable to establish themselves in different fields of their interest. Among the 16 courses offered 11 are at under graduate level and 5 are at post graduation level and all are full time courses. Undergraduate programs can range from the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, B.Com, Bachelor of Arts in English, and B.Sc Chemistry among others The post graduate programmes include Master of Commerce, Master of Arts in English, and Master of Social Work among others. The college also has Master of Philosophy programmes in English and Commerce for students willing to go for more research study.
