The Chikkanna Government Arts College is located in the city of Tirupur, which lies in the state pf Tamil Nadu. It was established in the year 1966, and presently has a campus covering forty acres of land. It is affiliated to the Bharathiar University, based in Coimbatore, also in Tamil Nadu. The college has to abide by the rules set by the DCE (Directorate of Collegiate Education), based in Chennai, the state capital.
