Affiliated college College of Applied Science Mavelikara (CAS Mavelikara) started in the year 1994 and is situated in the Alappuzha district of Kerala. This institution, also known as IHRD, College of Applied Science, Mavelikara, offers different courses at graduate as well as postgraduate levels. CAS Mavelikara has a student enrolment of 721 and offers 14 courses combining 8 degrees, and focuses on areas of Computer Science, Electronics, Commerce and Business Administration. The college, located in Mavelikara, is committed to advancing education in applied sciences and striving hard to make the assembly an academic institution.

College of Applied Science, Mavelikara, is affiliated with the University of Kerala. CAS Mavelikara has various facilities that shape student learning experience as follows. College also consists of well-accesses laboratories to give better practical knowledge to students according to their range of interest. A vast library works effectively as an information centre, providing a source of many kinds of material to the academic community. It also focuses on the health of students by providing facilities for sports to students of this institution. In order to manage the generation of digitally intelligent learners, CAS Mavelikara has excellent IT facilities to enable the students to get updated technologies during their studies. At the moment, the college comprises 14 courses, which are full-time undergraduate and postgraduate, diploma and certificate courses. The college provides admission to all the programmes that it offers, and the main courses include B.Sc Computer Science, B.Com Computer Applications and BCA, etc. The undergraduate programmes take three years, postgraduate and diploma programmes normally take one year.  The school provides a combination of conventional and contemporary programmes for students to meet various career paths.

The mode of admission to the primary programme of CAS Mavelikara is through the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) conducted by the University of Kerala. For most of the undergraduate admissions, 50% of the seats are admission through merit, and the remaining 50% of the seats are admission through reservation quotas. This makes admission disciplined for every student aiming to join the university.
