Kuttikkanam, Kerala-based College of Applied Science, Peermade, was established in 1993 and is affiliated with the university. Located in the beautiful Idukki district, this institution was another fine example of how a college can provide quality education together with an eye-pleasing environment. The college, being an IHRD college, lays more emphasis on offering quality educational programmes in science and technology. The total student enrolment of the college is 321, and hence the student-faculty ratio is quite low, which enables the members of the faculty to build good relationships with the students. It currently has four specialised courses within three degree programmes to suit the dynamic technological and business environment.

College of Applied Science is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. College of Applied Science, Peermade, has several modern amenities that supplement students' learning facilities. The college possesses extremely well-equipped laboratories so required practicals could be done in different technical fields, especially electronics and computers. The undergraduate programmes, each of the duration of three years, are B.Sc. Electronics, B.Sc. Computer Science, and B.Com. Computer Applications, taken for 40 students in each batch. For students who would wish to advance their studies, the college has two intakes of 20 students for the two-year M.Sc. Computer Science programme. These courses are relevant and were developed to equip the students with both knowledge and skills in their respective fields of specialisation for professional careers.
