The College of Engineering and Management, Kapurthala (CEM) is one of the leading and established college in the year 2002. CEM is an affiliated college in the region of Punjab, India which has an established the aim of offering quality engineering education. The institute has three B.Tech programmes and is capable of admitting 116 students and a faculty comprises of 92 members. CEM is located on Gowindwal Road, 5 kms away from Kapurthala, and therefore fostering easy access by students. The college focuses on three core engineering disciplines: Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, all providing different information and techniques to the conventional engineering students.
College of Engineering and Management, Kapurthala has made provisions of several facilities to encourage the physical comfort of all students in the institution. The college provides separate hostel facilities to the students of both genders with 280 beds for boys and 100 beds for girls. College library is a knowledge centre that contains over 14,000 books on technical and non technical discipline. Many of these are abstracted in national and international research journals & periodicals to ensure students have the latest information on their areas of study. The spacious, well-lit, and air-conditioned reading hall is open from 9:The students are free to study and research from 00 a.m. to 5:00 P.M. CEM also provides sports facilities, good IT Lab, transport facility and department wise separate well equipped laboratories for students of different departments for an all round education. This is an Affiliated College of IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar.
Combining all the programmes offered at College of Engineering and Management, Kapurthala boasts of full-time B.Tech programmes with a duration of 4 years. These programmes offered to students focus on different engineering disciplines so that the students have the varying opportunities in their carrier. The total approved intake for all three courses is one however per course, programme is allowable to have 30 students. The courses offfered by the college are B.Tech in Mechanical Engieerng, Computer Science and Engineering and, Electronics and Communication Engineeering. Such a measure is reasonable to let all students get private attention and quality education as much as possible. Although individual statistics of graduates are also unavailable, it is the belief of the college that rigorous theoretical and practical education coupled with industry-focused syllabuses will produce competent engineers to meet the complexities of the workplace.
