The College of Horticulture began in 1972 in Thrissur and is a constituent college of the Kerala Agricultural University. The core programme completed at the undergraduate level is B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons) and for the postgraduate students there are a number of specialisations like Soil Science Agronomy Plant Breeding and Biotechnology etc. The programmes offered for the granting of Ph.D degrees are in fields related to agriculture such as Plant Pathology, Fruit Science and Agricultural Economics. M.Sc courses in various specialisations are also offered at the postgraduate level. Thus, a total student intake of 584 in the college guarantees an individual attention paid to every learner. Concretely, in the academic year 2022, there were number of students total 2, 430 students taking undergraduate programmes; 508 postgraduate students shown institution’s concern to higher education in agriculture.
