The College of Teacher Education, Asansol, is one of the constituent colleges that shape the future of education. Being situated in the Asansol District of West Bengal, this institution imparts focused training in teaching. The campus spreads over a compact area of 5 acres, providing a close-knit learning atmosphere to the 168 students enrolled here. The faculty comprises 6 members, which assures personal attention and quality education for all. It is a teacher-education-focused institution, offering just one course of study: the B.Ed. This two-year full-time course has an approved intake of 100 students, thus adhering to optimal class sizes for effective learning.

The College of Teacher Education, Asansol, West Bengal, is a constituent college of the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad.  The College of Teacher Education, Asansol, has a very good infrastructure setup that facilitates the institution in its endeavour to impart the best possible education to the student teachers. It has a library that serves as a knowledge hub with a vast collection of reference books, textbooks, encyclopedias, and educational journals. Students can make use of the well-spaced reading room in their free time. This would develop a habit for learning and discovering all throughout. Another principal feature is the fully equipped Science Resource Centre, which provides actual exposure to Teaching Aids, 3-D charts, Models and Scientific Apparatus. This practical approach goes a long way in crystallising concepts and preparing the students for their internship programmes. Another important facility of the college is the ICT Resource Centre with 15 computer systems, all connected to the internet. The student-teachers are trained in ICT-based teaching-learning processes with the aid of LED projectors and educational software, and multimedia resources.

The College of Teacher Education, Asansol, imparts only teacher education with a single course of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). The B.Ed.The  Course design caters to the student with knowledge, skill, and practical experience to pursue a successful teaching career.

Admission to the College of Teacher Education, Asansol, is merit-based on marks obtained in the qualifying and/or entrance examination. This institution has accepted the score in CUET UG, abiding by the national benchmarks of admissions to HEIs. The admission policy of the State Government, UT Administration, and the university is followed by the College.
