The College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy, founded in 1955, is one of the first constituent colleges of the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. Situated in Thrissur, Kerala, this institute has been one of the premier destinations for veterinary education and research since 1954. Endorsed by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research, the college provides 50 courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in veterinary sciences and animal husbandry. The institution has 100 committed faculty members trained well to impart education to budding veterinarians and animal scientists.

College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy, and is the top-most veterinary educational and research institution in Kerala, India. The college runs plenty of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in veterinary sciences and animal husbandry. It has a highly selective, competitive admission process designed to identify the most promising and deserving students from across the Indian nation. The school generally starts admission between May and June for the academic year commencing in August and September. This institute takes applications for admission based on different national level entrance exams depending on the course. NEET-UG score is used primarily for undergraduate courses while postgraduate admissions are through exams including ICAR AIEEA. Undergraduate programs mandate that an applicant should have studied in a recognized board the subject combination of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at 10+2 level. 

Because a majority of the courses have an aggregate criterion of 50%, the post-graduate candidate usually has to complete his/her relevant bachelor's degree from a recognized university in 55-60% marks or equivalent CGPA. For M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. programs:

Degree wise Admission Process

  1. B.V.Sc. & A.H.: Admission to Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry is governed by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations for Kerala (CEE) and Veterinary Council of India (VCI) on the basis of candidate performance in The National Eligibility cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) by NTA. 
  2. M.V.Sc.: The college offers more than 20 specializations under the M.V.Sc. Programs that include Veterinary Public Health, Animal Reproduction, Clinical Veterinary Medicine, among others. Admission is mainly based on the ICAR AIEEA PG scores. It shall involve an entrance examination and interview as per the university.
  3. M.Sc.: Among those are various M.Sc. programs, including Biostatistics, Quality Control in Dairy Industry, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Applied Microbiology, and Animal Biotechnology. Selection is based on the university's entrance examination and viva-voce.
  4. Ph.D.: The college also has a variety of doctoral programs, like in Veterinary Public Health, Animal Reproduction, Pharmacology and Toxicology, among others. The admission process includes entrance exam and interview and selection based upon the OGPA of candidate in qualifying exam, marks in entrance test, prior experience, published articles, performance in interview, and extracurricular activities.

One of the best colleges in India.Labs are well equiped.Micro lab get samples from medical college to check lepto and other diseases.As a part of clinics,a hospital is going on both mannuthy and kokkala.Microscopes are well available with requirement.

College infrastructure is outstanding. All class rooms are equipped with projectors, blackboards. Smartclass room facility is also availanble. Some labs have space problems as they cannot accomodate much according to increased no of students. Badminton, volley courts, basketball, football, cricket all games can be played. A well updated library with lot of books are also there. Mess is handled by students, so there is good food. Wifi is there in hostels

Commendable infrastructure. College has laboratories for all the departments. A full fledged scientific library is there with connectivity. Annual sports events are held, with facilities for football, cricket, basketball and a gymnasium. We also have WIFI equipped library. Food served is up to the health standards.
