Admission to the PhD programme is based on the All-India Competitive Examination conducted by the Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Manipur. All the candidates, including sponsored (in-service) for seeking admission to the PhD programme, must have to appear in the written Examination. Admission notice is generally published in the news newspaper and the university website (www.cau.ac.in). A few seats of PhD programmes in selected departments are reserved for candidates qualified in the ICAR PhD entrance test and subsequently nominated through ICAR counselling.
