The Community Institute of Management Studies (CIMS), which started in 2007, is one-of-its-kind management institute in Bangalore, Karnataka. As an affiliated college, under the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), this institute comprises a wide variety of management & computer application courses. Located in a limited area of 3.44 acres near Ashoka Pillar, CIMS Bangalore is making a place for itself in the field of professional education. Currently, the institute enrols 357 students in total, and 25 members of the faculty. It has 2 degree courses, MBA, MCA that suits the students need in terms of an academic ambition.

With increased enrollment of students in the institute, CIMS Bangalore aims at offering the students the best environment to learn in. The campus has facilities to improve the educational process within its area of operation. The college library has updated stock of the recommended books, magazines, journals and other periodicals, published within the country and aboard. Students also get to use audio-video sources and CDs as sources of information. The facility in the computer lab includes modern machines with appropriate software and the campus enables use of internet throughout and at any time of the day. For those needing a place to live, CIMS also provides hostels for boys and girls with the facilities that are provided to cater for the needs of the students by present day standards.

The institute has a total of two courses that are all conventional full time programmes. The two core programmes offered by CIMS are the MBA programme in 180 seats and the MCA programme in 120 seats. This diverse course offering enables CIMS to offer a broad area of specialisation of interest in the fields of management and information technology.

Admission process in CIMS Bangalore is very much structured to identify the brightest brains who want to enroll in respective programmes. According to the MBA and MCA courses, the institute provides admission for the candidates based on nation level entrance examinations. The major tests include CAT (Common admission Test), CMAT (Common Management Admission Test), XAT (Xavier aptitude test), MAT (Management Aptitude test), ATMA (AIMS test for Management Admissions), GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) and KMAT (Karnataka Management Aptitude Test). Apart from the filled application form, prospective students have to submit their entrance examination score cards as well. 

The institute also considers other All India Aptitude/entrance tests recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
