The Composite Regional Centre for Persons with Disabilities was underway in 2000 at Bhopal having a special focus in serving disabled persons. Situated in Piplani Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh this is a government facility that dispenses education and assistance in the disability rehabilitation. The institute teaches two separate classes and combines its programmes to be a coeducational learning institution that admits both male and female students. This even with a faculty strength of only 6 members means good attention, care and quality education offered to students.

They also have several amenities meant to improve the learning sessions of the institute’s students. The library which is one of the basic academic facility at the university has a book collection of a total of 1, 397 volumes as of March 2017. This collection has more than 45000 references with a comprehensive subject coverage on disabilities therapeutics, education, community based rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, basic medical science and government acts & policies. Besides, it offers videos, CDS and DVDs collections as well as relevant journals in disability rehabilitation field.  In compliance with the principles of the enactment, and to facilitate practical training, the center has retained departmental based Laboratories’ to enable the students practice in their lines of specialties. Technology is also considered an important aspect with enough and good infrastructure considering the fact that the institute prepares its students for the modern world. As for the comprehensive development approach, there are sports facilities for students with convenient opportunities for making a balance between physical and academic development.

However, in case of academic courses, it offers two full time courses by the Composite Regional Centre for Persons with Disabilities. The second vocation is a Diploma in Hearing Languages and Speech, which also takes one year to complete. Both courses are intended to provide students with practical specialised knowledge in their fields to improve disability rehabilitation and support goals.
