One of the highly esteemed technical institutions in Contai, West Bengal, Contai Polytechnic was started in the year 1990. Within the 28-acre campus area, this affiliated college has shaped many aspiring technicians and engineers for more than three decades. Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and the Pharmacy Council of India, Contai Polytechnic offers varied diploma programmes catering to the emerging needs in the industry. The student enrolment here is 1,160, and the faculty strength is 26, so it provides a good learning atmosphere.

Contai Polytechnic can boast facilities making up a holistic educational experience. Students get access to laboratories that are well-equipped for hands-on training in technical disciplines. The college has two state-of-the-art computer laboratories comprising almost 100 computers; this benefit enables the students to keep pace with the ever-evolving technological changes. It has a well-stocked library with more than 12,000 text and reference books, including books of specialised nature such as B.P. – 99 (with CD ROM) and Remington Pharmaceutical Sciences, acts as a knowledge centre for both the students and faculty. The library is equipped with an air-conditioned reading room, which provides an ambiance that enables serious study. The institution also has a spacious and air-conditioned auditorium, ideal for seminars and audio-visual programmes for extra-curricular activities/events. It provides comfortable accommodation to both male and female students through a 60-seat boys' hostel and a 100-seat girls' hostel on campus for safe and comfortable living with all conveniences. 

Contai Polytechnic offers seven full-time diploma courses. All of these programmes are based on different disciplines of engineering and pharmacy and cater to different career aspirations.

Contai Polytechnic offers six diploma courses in engineering with 60 intakes per course (30 intakes for Electronics and Telecommunications). Admission to the courses is based on two entrance tests:

1. JEXPO (Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics): The test is for students who have passed the 10th standard.
2. VOCLET (Vocational Lateral Entry Test): This test is for those candidates who cleared their 12th class with vocational subjects or ITI.

Candidates must clear JEXPO or VOCLET to be considered for admission in these diploma courses. The final selection depends on the candidate's performance in these entrance tests and on the availability of seats in the desired course.

D.Pharma (Diploma in Pharmacy):

The intake for D.Pharma in Contai Polytechnic is 60 students. Admission to the course is different from the admission to the engineering diplomas. The students who are interested and want to get admitted to D.Pharma are asked to appear for either:

1. A centralized Common Entrance Test, or
2. An institute-level entrance test

For any diploma course you need to complete atleast class 10 from any recognised institution. A diploma is a short-term course, lasting 1 or 2 years, and is not necessarily given by a university. It could be conducted by an institute or polytechnic as well. Only a university can confer a degree. To pursue higher education, a degree from only a UGC approved university is accepted.

Hey dear, from your question it can be assumed that you are asking about placements of engineering, mba e.t.c. so, there are many companies that visit colleges for placements like infosys and wipro are mass recuiters in many colleges. Then come some majot core companies those are limited to certain branches, that too are regular companies visiting every year in colleges. For MBA, companies like accenture, TCS come for management sector in most  of the colleges.
