The Department of Business Administration, University of Burdwan, was initiated in 1960 and is one of the premier constituent colleges in Bardhaman, West Bengal. This premier institution is approved by AICTE and offers various management programmes aimed at grooming business leaders in the future. The faculty of 12 runs the department with a strong learning environment for students pursuing higher education in the field of Business Administration.

 The facilities—most of them enriching the college experience—are also available to students of the Department of Business Administration. The institution has a well-stacked central library housed in a two-story building on the Golapbag campus, which acts as a very important knowledge center for the students and faculty alike. The college promotes a medical facility in relation to community health and wellness at the very essence of its operations. It provides emergency management services during the weekdays to students, faculty, and staff members. The college is under the Department of University of Burdwan, Bardhaman.

The Department of Business Administration offers a total of three courses, all full-time. The flagship MBA, the specialised MBA in Tourism Management with an approved intake of 60 seats, and the Ph.D. in Management programme present advanced research opportunities for aspiring scholars. 

The admission process in the Department of Business Administration is tough and highly competitive, especially for the MBA course. The aspiring candidate has to go through Management Aptitude Test (MAT) because it is one of the famous national level entrance examinations taken by most of the management institutes.
