Department of Computer Science and Engineering is located at NH 64 on Patiala-Rajpura Road; the department has been imparting education in computer science for almost two decades. Currently, the department is blessed with a workforce of 38 dedicated faculty in addition to offering a variety of programmes in computer science and engineering. This department is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and thus offers its programmes in compliance with the policy on technical education in India. Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Panjabli University provides 3 courses for both the undergraduate and postgraduate students throughout the programme.

The admission process of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering is different for different programmes. For the B.Tech programme students get admitted on merit, that is, on the basis of the aggregate percentage of marks in Mathematics, Physics and any one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, a technical vocational subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics or Business Studies. And for M.Tech programmes Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) entrance examination is needed for applying.
