Deshbandhu B.Ed. College, located in the Murshidabad District of West Bengal, since its very inception in 2017, has been a nascent institution with the firm objective of shaping future educators. This co-educational college is located in the serene township of Jalangi, over a compact campus area measuring 1.01 acres. This college imparts two special courses in education with an enrollment of 340 students in total. With a total faculty strength of 18, Deshbandhu B.Ed. College ensures that a student gets personalised attention and a good-quality education. 

It is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and affiliated with the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University for its B.Ed. Programme, and the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) for its D.El.Ed. Programme. This includes facilities that support academics and the all-round development of students in the institution. Such sports facilities enable the development of physical fitness and team spirit for those with an interest in sports. The presence of a well-stocked library makes it a knowledge centre for students and provides them with a good number of informative resources. The courses available in Deshbandhu B.Ed.Colleges offer two full-time courses at the degree level: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.), each lasting two years. The courses will be structured to provide students with the requisite knowledge and skills necessary for a teaching profession. The intake is equally divided between these two courses; an overall total of 200 seats is maintained. 

The admission procedure has been designed in Deshbandhu B.Ed. The college has to make the whole process just and transparent. Students are admitted strictly based on merit for the B.Ed.Course according to norms and prescriptions of WBUTTEPA.; For D.EI.ED., the programme adopts a similar merit-based admission policy under which the students are admitted based on marks secured at the qualifying examination and entrance examination.
