Dr. Ambedkar College of Education is situated in Bangalore, Karnataka and it was started in 1980.It is very famous college and it focuses on teacher education. This co-educational college is an affiliated college which is situated in J.C. Nagar, Mahalakshmipuram Post, West of Chord Road, Bangalore. The college is recognised by National Council for Teacher Education(RCTE), for maintaining quality standards of its education programmes. Schooled in a campus of about 1 acre, the college provides two programmes in education, the total number of students for each programme being 52. The institution has a faculty strength of 6 therefore the ratio of students for every teacher ensures an excellent learning environment for those intending to become teachers.

Dr. Ambedkar College of Education offers two full-time courses: Two years courses are Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Master of Education (M.Ed). The B.Ed programme was started with an accredited annual intake capacity of fifty and the M.Ed programme also offers intake capacity of fifty only. 

In admission to the Dr. Ambedkar College of Education; the marks scored in the qualifying examination and entrance examination shall determine the admission. The college implements state government/Union Territory administration, and university affiliated to it regarding the admission process of the students.
