Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Engineering and Research was established in the year 2008 in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The institution is a co-educational affiliated college, accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The 10-acre campus at DBACER offers 4 undergraduate engineering programmes with a total student intake of 666. The college has a student body with a male-to female ratio of 3:1 and accommodates 4% of students from outside the state. Sports facilities include a 400-meter athletic track, indoor multi-purpose auditorium, badminton courts, table tennis tables, basketball and volleyball courts, and even a swimming pool.
DBACER runs four undergraduate BE programmes, each four years long. They offer Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Civil Engineering. The sanctioned intake in all courses taken together is 300 seats. Mechanical Engineering has an intake capacity of 120 seats; the three remaining courses have 60 seats each. All of these courses are full-time regular courses to ensure fuller exposure of the student in the chosen course.

Admission in DBACER is done principally on the basis of scores in the Common Entrance Test, CET, conducted by Maharashtra's competent authority. It also accepts scores in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE Main Paper I. This dual acceptance of examination scores will provide aspiring students with the opportunity for multiple pathways for admission. The college participates in the centralised admission process, which makes sure that the candidates are chosen by a medium that is absolutely fair and transparent.
