Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film and Television Institute or DBHRGFTI began its journey in 1999. It is a leading autonomous institute located in Guwahati, Assam. This co-educational institute is a prime example of excellence; set in 10 acres, it specialises in shaping talent in the fields of film and television. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and offers a mix of both technical and creative education to its aspirants. DBHRGFTI provides four diploma courses designed to each aid for distinctions in the film and the television arena.

At the heart of DBHRGFTI is its well-stocked library, housing 858 books in various languages, covering subjects from audiography to film direction.
