Dr BR Ambedkar Government Polytechnic, Una, is one amongst the premier technical institute established in the year 1995 located in Una district of Himachal Pradesh . This government polytechnic institution spread with a built up area of 10.1 acres of land aim at delivering quality technical education to those students who are interested in joining engineering stream. This AICTE approved institute offers diploma programmes in several engineering streams. The polytechnic has total student enrolment of 500 and a faculty strength of 22 to provide concentrated learning.
Dr BR Ambedkar Government Polytechnic has a wide range of resources in form of facilities in order to make sure that students receive an improved learning experience at the polytechnic. The campus comprises well-facilitated laboratories for all departments, Computer Engineering, Multimedia Laboratory, Networking Laboratory, Programming Laboratory, Electronics, Civil and Mechanical Engineering departments. The library of the institute occupies 300 square meters; there are approximately 7000 books in it, and today, the institute offers its students to read six different journals and magazines containing the information about the latest achievements in the sphere of technologies. The computer centre which is fully complimented with sixty latest computers with Internet facility open the students to the latest soft wares and technologies. For the residential students, the polytechnic provides dormitory accommodation for 120 and 60 students respectively.
Dr. BR Ambedkar Government Polytechnic Institute provides a total of five full time diploma courses and all of them are of three years duration. These courses includes a wide range of fields of engineering and helps to prepare students for technical education. Our diploma courses are Diploma in Computer Engineering, Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, and Diploma in Architecture Assistantship.
