Dr. MGR Fisheries College and Research Institute, Ponneri came into existence in 2013 as one of the constituent colleges of Tamil Nadu situated in Thiruvallur District. This is a specialised university with major concentrations in fisheries and marine science hence the speciality in the study of aquaculture sciences. The institute occupies a splendid area of campus of 20 acres which helps in enhancing the overall atmosphere necessary for both theoretical and practical learning. Spread over a sprawling campus, GVP has a strength of 277 students and 20 faculty members, providing them individual focus and academic attention.
