The college was established in 1984. PDMMC, Amravati is a private university affiliated to  Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. The college offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. PDMMC, Amravati UG courses include Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), admissions to UG course is offered to students who have passed class 12th from a recognised board with science streams, also valid score in NEET-UG examination. 

The college also offers courses at postgraduate level. PDMMC, Amravati PG courses include PGD, MD and MS in different fields. Students who are aspiring for PDMMC, Amravati PG admissions must have cleared MBBS from a recognised board. Candidates are also required to apply and appear for NEET-PG examination. 

The college also offers many facilities to the students. PDMMC, Amravati facilities include separate Hostels for boys and girls, well-equipped classrooms, modern laboratories, cafeteria, sports facilities and many more.
