Excel College of Architecture and Planning was set up in the year of 2009 at Namakkal; it is one of the leading colleges to provide architectural education in Tamil Nadu, India. This affiliated college is situated at a 130-acre land near the NH-544 and has the permission of the Council of Architecture for the quality of education in this field. The institute provides two programmes – Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Architecture – for which 434 students are admitted in total. Currently, the college has a teaching faculty of 90 members, providing a conducive student-faculty ratio throughout the institution.

Excel College of Architecture and Planning majors in Architecture and offers two core courses. The B.Arch Course is a five-year full-time course which takes 40 students every year. The Master of Architecture (M.Arch) is offered as a two-year full-time course and intakes 20 students every year. Each one of them aims at delivering full education in the sphere of architecture while combining the theoretical knowledge with practical experiences. 

Excel College of Architecture and Planning follows the merit-based admission process and offers admission to Architecture and Planning programmes. For the B.Arch programme students, they have to undergo a seated test of the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) or Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Mains).
