Faculty of Dairy Technology, Agriculture University, Jodhpur, was set up in the year 2020 and is an important centre of learning in dairy science. Established in 2008 in Mandor, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, this is one of the youngest institutions of the agriculture university in India, which provides special emphasis on dairy technology. The institute is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE); this makes the institute operate under the set standards of technical education laid down by the council. The faculty offers only one B.Tech programme in Dairy Technology for 17 students only, and it has the vision to produce eligible, talented professionals in the field of dairy. Previously, the institute claimed that it has only one faculty, suggesting that students in this field will likely receive individualised attention in this institute.
Faculty of Dairy Technology, Agriculture University, is a faculty of Agriculture University, Jodhpur. Faculty of Dairy Technology, Agriculture University has several facilities in order to improve the situation of its students and the result of studying. The academic basement of the academic campus is the central library; it possesses 3600 documents in the form of books, bound journals and government publications. Currently there are 15 journals, newspapers and magazines subscribed to, in which 223 are students, faculty and staff of Baptist Bible College.
It also has a book bank facility, and in the future, it aims at improving access to electronic resources. For technological requirements, the institute has equipped a computer laboratory with a Local Area Network (LAN) with 10 nodes containing Internet as well as email facilities for students and faculty members. There is also availability of e-learning modules from the institutes under ICAR, making a rich online learning facility.
Faculty of Dairy Technology, Agriculture University currently offers one full-time course: a B.Tech in Dairy Technology. This means it takes four years to complete and is intended to give a broad education in dairy science and technology for students wishing to join the dairy industry. The course has an approved intake of 60 students, which is more or less fixed due to the central theme of the programme and the institute aims to keep the student-to-faculty ratio optimum. As for individual graduation data, it is impossible to name it because the institute was created relatively recently, but the programme is orientated to the training of qualified professionals ready to work in the dairy sphere.
The medium of instruction in B.Tech Dairy Technology is English, for which admission is offered through the Jain Entrance Test (JET). This entrance examination also provides the opportunity for the learners to gain a place in this special programme.
