Farooqia Dental College and Hospital was established in 1992 as one of the famous dental colleges located in Mysore, Karnataka. This affiliated college, approved by the Dental Council of India (DCI), provides all the dental programmes. Being a small college located in a small area of 4.93 acres, the college has a total of 106 members of faculty with a dedicated and personalised student-faculty ratio. Farooqia Dental College & Hospital provides 8 programmes in 2 Courses of study for Dental Surgeon of Pakistan in all fields of Dentistry. The institute is affiliated with RGUHS. The institute's commitment to diversity is evident in its student body, with a 32:Males to females ratio of 68/1 in the undergraduate programme.
Farooqia Dental College and Hospital offers students both academic and personal amenities that help them in their college endeavours. The library plays a role of an information centre where information is requested and sought by students and researchers in fields of dentistry. For accommodation, there are good and clean boys’ and girls’ hostels to accommodate outstation students. Basically, the college focuses on students’ health and has a health centre within the compound complete with first aid amenities.

The programme that started off as a flagship one is Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), a full-time programme with an approved total capacity of 40 students. At the postgraduate level there are the following courses offered in the dental college, which include a full-time Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in various specifications.
These are MDS in Prosthetics, Periodontics, Orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics, Oral pathology and Microbiology, Oral medicine and radiology, etc. The college PR does not give the percentage of the number of seats to be filled for PG courses, but it does mention that the college admits both UG and PG students. In general, according to the latest statistical data available, there are 59 students enrolled in the undergraduate programme.
The admission policy of Farooqia Dental College and Hospital is keen on merit, and the admission policies of the college are as determined by the authorities. As for the BDS programme , the students are given admission according to the results of their National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). For NEET, every aspirant candidate should clear NEET, and besides, there should be the matriculation qualification for all aspiring candidates who wish to join either of the two colleges. For postgraduate programmes, admissions are done using performance in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for MDS (NEET MDS). The college accepts these two national entrance examinations, thus following a common admission standard across the nation.
