Ganesh Lal Agrawal College, Palamu (GLA) is one of the premier. This constituent college is established in Daltonganj, Jharkhand state and it has been catering the educational needs of the region since its establishment, nearly seven decades back. It is affiliated to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Spreading a total area of 84 acres, GLA currently teaches a total of 35 courses falling under 7 degrees. The college over all student intake capacity is 5,069 and total number of faculties is 55 which give a suitable accommodation to the students.

The college currently has several infrastructures which caters for its academic requirements. Students and faculty have access to a literate centre where an impressive number of books addresses the needs of the academic community, including sections for textbooks. The campus has boasts of well equipped laboratories in chemistry, physics, zoology, geography, psychology and botany in supporting practical learning of sciences and arts faculties. At the undergraduate level, students can earn Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) with the following options Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Geology, Computer Applications, Biotechnology, Economics, English, Hindi, Psychology, Geography, Philosophy, History, Political Science, Urdu and Kurux. The postgraduate course with specialisation is Master of Science (M.Sc) courses are M.Sc In Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics Botany and Zoology Besides, Master of Arts (MA) in Economics English Hindi Geography Philosophy psychology History Politics and Urdu. Also, a worthy feature of the college is its B.Ed programme for anyone wanting to be a teacher.
