University, recognised since 1961 as a technical university, is situated in central part of New Delhi, India and is known as GB Pant Institute of Technology, or GBPIT for short. This government-associated college has been producing technical professionals for more than sixty-year and is located in the industrial area of Okhla Industrial Estate. GBPIT occupies a large piece of land measuring 20 acres and provides a right environment for learning and innovation. The institute is privileged to host 1,701 students and a strong team of 42 members constituting the faculty in order to ensure one-to-one teaching.

The calendar of academic programmes offered at GBPIT is formed primarily around the wide scope of the diploma programmes it offers. The institute presently provides nine courses for which all the courses award the diploma qualification. These programmes aim at offering solutions in different fields of engineering studying where it offers both full time and part time learning. The full–time diploma courses offered are Automobile Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Production Engineering. To cater for the flexibly learning individuals or those doing their jobs, GDPIT also provides part time diplomas in civil engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering.
