GHG College of Nursing Ludhiana was founded in 2005, is one of the renowned institutions that focuses on working the nursing faculty in the Punjab, India. Affiliated to Punjab University, Ludhiana, this affiliated college is spread over a expansive 20 acre campus at Ludhiana Road, Raikot that provides students a holistic environment for learning in healthcare. Recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) the college ensures quality education in nursing. Abstract This paper aims to establishing GHG College of Nursing as an institution of higher learning with quality and student friendly methodology in JKLU. The total student enrolment that the college has registered is 258 while total faculty is 11, thus it means that the college offers a specialty training.

GHG College of Nursing Ludhiana has a variety of facilities to help support the students ‘learning process as well as to foster their intellectual and character growth. A modern library is an informative center which offers materials wanted for the studies. The campus also has a girls’ hostel to provide quality accommodation for female students for their periods of residence with us. Facilities are devoted to health with a medical center being an establishment that has a first aid facility. Concerning the over all growth and development of the student, the college extends its support to the development of sports facilities as well as participation in co-curricular activities. Current teaching technologies are served by the IT, and the auditorium is used for different events and seminars. There is a cafeteria that supplies food dietary for all the students and staff, a plenitude of parking space also.

The GHG College of Nursing provides students with any type of nursing course, including full-time courses at different levels. The institute lists nine courses, which are certificate, under graduate and post graduate courses. These are ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery), GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) B.Sc Nursing, Post B.Sc Nursing, and M.Sc Nursing in different specialisations.

Application Process

GHG College of Nursing, Ludhiana, has a delightfully cumbersome application process comprising the following steps to ensure fair and comprehensive selection of candidates:

1. Notification: Admission notifications by the college are published through its official website, local newspapers, and other media channels.

2. Application Form: The applicant should get the application form from either online source from the college website or physical submission from the college admission office. Fill up the form accurately with all the necessary personal and academic details.

3. Documents Submission: Completed application will require the applicant to attach the following different sets of documents:

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • Transfer certificate from the last attended institution
  • Character certificate
  • Medical fitness certificate
  • Caste certificate, if applicable
  • Passport size photographs

4. Entrance Examination: Candidates may have to appear for an entrance examination conducted either by the college or any state-level nursing entrance test depending on the program applied for.

5. Merit List: The merit list prepared by the college is based on the entrance exam and/or performance in qualifying academic tests. 

6. Counselling and Document Verification: Selected candidates will then be invited for counselling where original documents will be verified and admissions will be allocated based on merit and preferences.

7. Fee Payment: Selected candidates have to deposit their fees within stipulated time to secure their admission.

Degree wise Admission Process

GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery): the college for the GNM program has 60 seats. Admission to the course depends upon the examination performance of student candidates at 10+2 and state nursing council entrance exams tests or those conducted by the college.

B.Sc Nursing: The total seats available for admission in B.Sc Nursing are 50. The admission process may go through a process of weighting marks at 10+2 level in PCB subjects and/or by the performance in any state-level or college-level entrance examination.

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: There are 50 seats allocated for this program in the college. Candidates with a GNM diploma are eligible to apply. The selection process may have an entrance test as well as consideration of past performance in academics.

ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery): Program with 45 seats. ANM admission depends on 10+2 results and in addition criteria specified by the college or state nursing council.

M.Sc Nursing: M.Sc Nursing is available in the various specializations in the college:

  1. M.Sc Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing (5 seats)
  2. M.Sc Paediatric Nursing (5 seats)
  3. M.Sc Community Health Nursing (4 seats)
  4. M.Sc Psychiatric Nursing (4 seats)
