Gitanjali College of Education is located in West Bengal, India, on the outskirts of Birbhum, and was established in the year 2013. It is a co-educational institution aimed at developing prospective teachers, with two full-time courses in the area of education. This college is sprawled over a simple 1.12 acres with all necessary facilities and has the approval of NCTE. The total student enrollment for Gitanjali College of Education is 200 and faculty strength is 17.

The infrastructure has a host of facilities for learning enhancement and the overall development of students. The well-equipped library provides ample basic materials for study and development and serves as a knowledge hub in the institution. Gitanjali College of Education imparts two major courses: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). Both courses are of two years and full-time, which the students can pursue to build up their teaching careers. The B.Ed course, having an intake capacity of 100 students, is focused on secondary education, and the D.El.Ed course is also having the same intake capacity, specialized in primary education. 

The procedure of admission to Gitanjali College of Education is completely merit-based. Admission to the B.Ed. course shall be made on the basis of marks in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination as prescribed by the State Government and the University of Burdwan, Bardhaman. Admission to the D.El.Ed. course shall also be made on the basis of merit with marks from qualifying examinations and/or Entrance Test conducted for the said Programme, subject to the State Government and U.T. Administration policies.
